- Is McCain move a neocon first step towards postponing the entire election?: Well, at least one group of Americans have it great this week, namely the conspiracy theorists: They've all gone apesh-t online this week, after McCain's plea for Obama to suspend both the debates and active campaigning, claiming that this is merely step one of a new neocon plan to suspend a bunch of major election-relat ed events, as a way of justifying in November a permanent postponement of the entire election altogether. I'm not saying I believe in this myself; but it never hurts to at least keep these ideas floating in the public sphere, just in case this theory starts eerily coming more and more true throughout October.
